All Black Everything

When in doubt, black never fails. I'm not ashamed to say that the majority of my wardrobe consists of various black items. It's my way of looking put together and coordinated without much effort, especially on those mornings when I literally roll out of bed at the last minute and trying to find an outfit is the last thing I want to do. Don't get me wrong – I love colors especially in the summertime, but black is just easy. If my mom is reading this right now, she's probably shaking her head because she knows more than anyone that if I see an item I like, I'm always going to ask if it comes in black. Recently, I've been making a more conscious effort to incorporate some colors into my wardrobe while shopping, but I can't confirm nor deny if that has been successful. But baby steps, right?

One thing I’ve learned about living in New York is that once you leave your apartment for the day, you should always be prepared for random plans to pop up. Whether it’s unexpectedly getting invited to an event or grabbing dinner last minute with a friend – there isn’t always enough time to go home and change clothes. Pairing a blazer with jeans is one of my favorite things to do for that reason. It allows my look to be flexible for different environments. My note to self is always: Stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready.
